Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist
Lynn provides psychiatric medication management for adult and geriatric clients. She sees the care she provides as a partnership with clients to help them achieve and maintain optimal mental health. Her approach to care is compassionate yet structured. She assists clients in taking the necessary steps, big or small, to achieve the positive outcome they seek.
Lynn received her Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Nursing from Alcorn State University in 1981. Later, she attended graduate school at Indiana University, IU, earning a Master of Science in Nursing in 2000. Lynn is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist.
In her earlier career, Lynn worked in Critical Care, Long Term Care, and Hospital Management. She also worked at Centerstone from 1987 to 1994, when it was named South Central Community Mental Health Center.
Lynn has worked providing mental health care in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She also worked for the federal government for 20 years, initiating and running Psych services in the VA’s Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) program. The model of care Lynn helped develop is now being used in all of the VA’s CBOCs. She received a prestigious award from the VA for her valuable work in getting the program off the ground.
In her free time, Lynn is passionate about gardening. She has a greenhouse that she runs from February to October, where she grows herbs and vegetables. She also loves tending to her flower beds, especially the bed in front of her home, which is a real show stopper.
